Nikosi Mc leish said it was a bit emotional knowing I would not be participating again.
He said his main aim was to improve his 2010 performance over his 2009 times… based on a call to action by Wayne Roberts to do so. So far he was able to improve on all his 2009 time and set personal records in his attempts.
He mentioned looking for new horizons as it relates to him even trying to qualify to represent Trinidad and Tobago sometime.
His personal mantra… is just do it…
He believes he thinks he has a contribution to make as far as CariFin is concern… “I will always be involved in CariFin maybe as part of the committee.”

She describe her performance as a surprise and very proud of it

and overall satisfied.
She said in the back of my mind I had in me, it was just for me come out and express it. Last night I said to myself I want to come out and win and I did it. It was a big gamble anyone could of win.

It’s Friday and I am really excited as we move on to event number two, however, before I get too far ahead of myself, I want to thank everyone for coming out and doing their part in making the first event an overwhelming success.
I want us to hold it together as we move forward to stage two I want to encourage teams to continue training together building the team spirit and lift the level of fitness among your peers as we make this another memorable year of competition.

Today … the day after the Carifin Torch Relay I am reporting on this event. The Torch relay signifies the Start of the CariFin Games – an inter-financial series of sporting events promoting health and fitness and personal responsibility towards one’s health.
Carifin games starts off with the Urban Challenge (4 events) – the One Lap Savannah on Wednesday April 21, 2010 and the Green Mile on Wednesday April 28, 2010. We then do the Chancellor Challenge on Wednesday April 09, 2010 and Aerobics Burnout on Wed April 16, 2010 all these events start at 5.00 p.m.

Alfred Patrick
I met up with Alfred Patrick and his team GHL training at Queen’s Park Savannah. I was glad for the opportunity to interview team GHL and get their view of how things are going for them and their outlook on the current CariFin Games with its series of events.
GHL have done well since they started to participate in CariFin some six years or so ago.
They have in their ranks the present Female cross country runner and the 2nd and 3rd top male runners.
Jeneen Salim
The up and coming Ryan Pierre and Jeneen Salim who some predict would make climb up the CariFin ranking in 2010.
It was awesome hanging out with Team GHL and you will hear the audio version of the interview.

I came face to face with the first and second winners of the Step on the Step competition put on by the HR department for the staff at Republic Bank – Park Street.
I was really amazed by the fact that such a simple idea, one that didn’t need the usual high injection of funds to have it started or keep it going, or the outside resources of coaches and trainers to be involved to have it succeed, that it catched on so easily .
To think about it, a simple built in infrastructure like the stairs, transformed a normal daily activity into a buzz, a competition, something that would have a strong influence with the staff and people at RBL Park Street branch.
Sitting and listening to Marina Gordon and Kim Ngui it was an eye opener in a world where gadgets and equipment are the order of the day to do the smallest of things like opening a can to sending a message to a colleague a few cubicles away in the same office.
They were passionate about the idea of being motivated in their very own workplace, encourage by friends and other co-workers and being able to reap the benefits of fitness while on the job.

At the end of meeting number 06, 2010 at republic bank on Park Street. On that same day we had election of officers for CariFin 2010. I tried to get comments from everyone at the table to get a sense of the mood of the various persons responsible for getting their teams together.

We got the opportunity to chat with Pamenos Ballantyne after CLICO International Marathon on Sunday January 24, 2010.
He placed 3rd with a come from behind performance which was much the talk of the marathon crowd on the day.
Simon Sawe three times CLICO Marathon Champion was gracious enough to speak to the Fun, Fitness & Friendship audience. Here he tells his story – the story of a winner, how he did it, how the race was.
He was very open and articulate in his delivery. He feels at home in Trinidad and is welcome and cheered on by the many spectators that line the streets to look at the race.
Shawn Edwards of Central Bank after 26 grueling mile still had the presence of mind and was able to articulate his performance in the marathon.
After 8 – 9 weeks of training for this race he went out and executed to plan.

Esla Anthony a member of Team Central Bank ran the CLICO Marathon on Sunday January 24, 2010. We had a brief chat with Esla after the race
Champions Simon Sawe and Mary Akor will defend their CLICO Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon titles.
Marathon Committee chairman Diane Henderson confirmed yesterday that Sawe and Akor will be among the athletes who will line up outside Mid Centre Mall, in Chaguanas, on Sunday morning for the 28th running of the T&T Marathon.
Sawe will chase a hat-trick of titles, following his victories in 2008 and 2009, while women’s champion Akor is bidding for her fourth win in five years.
