We got the opportunity to chat with Pamenos Ballantyne after CLICO International Marathon on Sunday January 24, 2010.

He placed 3rd with a come from behind performance which was much the talk of the marathon crowd on the day.

Simon Sawe three times CLICO Marathon Champion was gracious enough to speak to the Fun, Fitness & Friendship audience. Here he tells his story – the story of a winner, how he did it, how the race was.
He was very open and articulate in his delivery. He feels at home in Trinidad and is welcome and cheered on by the many spectators that line the streets to look at the race.

Shawn Edwards of Central Bank after 26 grueling mile still had the presence of mind and was able to articulate his performance in the marathon.

After 8 – 9 weeks of training for this race he went out and executed to plan.

Champions Simon Sawe and Mary Akor will defend their CLICO Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon titles.

Marathon Committee chairman Diane Henderson confirmed yesterday that Sawe and Akor will be among the athletes who will line up outside Mid Centre Mall, in Chaguanas, on Sunday morning for the 28th running of the T&T Marathon.

Sawe will chase a hat-trick of titles, following his victories in 2008 and 2009, while women’s champion Akor is bidding for her fourth win in five years.

These are my predictions for CariFin 2010. CariFin is an inter-financial Institution event that promotes health and fitness through sports in the work place.
We are poised for a very interesting year of competition. The current male champion is on the verge of stretching his winning streak to four in a row.

And from the female perspective a very exciting prospect is ensuing with the champion has to well this year to hold off the competition…. But that is enough…….

Hi everyone I have four interviews line – up here. The overall male and female winners of the EPOS 10k and the CariFin Team in Training – top finishers (male and female). This is interesting and engaging and a must listened to… for the  runners and fans alike. This is the first time we have the EPOS 10 K and it was a blast. Not your typical big race… only in it for the marketing buck… but at the heart of this race was a platform for good aggressive racing to take place.
